The Sum of Life
My Debut Album
A Special Dedication
Dedicated to my wife Karen and our children Brendan and Zoe. It has been a life’s dream to write songs and an amazing journey. To go from writing songs at home to the manifestation of recording and seeing them come to life is so rewarding.
I want to thank Cliff Delbridge, my guitar teacher for suggesting that I write songs and his stern support during the process, and my vocal coach Gailene Elliott for help with shaping the lyrics and production.
A Heartfelt Thanks
To the Producer & Musicians
Last but not least I want to give a heartfelt thanks to Jeff Martin, the owner and producer at Studio E, for his patience, knowledge and musician community. He made my dream come true.
I also want to thank the incredible stars that played on the album and gave so much. David LaFlamme, Nina Gerber, Mitch Woods, Giovanna Imbesi and Victor Carberry.
Scott Smith is a new songwriter with indelible lyrics and catchy musical hooks. A San Francisco native that grew up listening to The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane and The Byrds, he loves music that has power, lifts your spirits and makes you move. Scott is creating a fresh breath to Americana music with a Rockin/Blues flavor.
His first guitar teacher was David Nelson of the New Riders of the Purple Sage and loved the stories David told about the beginnings of the 60’s music scene in San Francisco, with artists like Janis Joplin and Pigpen. Along with recording, Scott plays fiddle in an Old Time Music group and enjoys the early Origins of American music, drawing off of it for song ideas of this timeless Beautiful music.
He is currently in the studio working on his second album full of stomping wicked grooves. One of the contributing artists is David Grisman with his signature sound. The album is a serious rocker with more tracks from Nina Gerber and David LaFlamme.
